COUNTY PREPARING FOR SNOW AND ICE SEASON As the days grow shorter and the temperatures turn colder, DuPage County residents are reminded that winter is right around the corner. With winter comes holiday cheer, time with family, and snow covered roads. While there has yet to be a significant snowfall in the region, the DuPage County Division of Transportation is already preparing for the coming snow and ice season.
COUNTY EMPLOYEES SEW HOLIDAY STOCKINGS FOR TROOPS
DuPage County is pleased to announce that this year’s Soldier Holiday Stocking Project was an overwhelming success. The goal of the project, organized by County employees Mary Andrus and Georgette Garcia, was to sew 500 stockings, but the final count reached 939. The stockings, donated by county employees, friends and family, will be sent to U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan through Operation Support Our Troops.
