DuPage County Animal Care & Control is a self-supporting (non taxpayer funded) county department designed to:
- Prevent and control rabies through bite investigation and rabies registration
- Enforce state and county animal control and welfare laws
- Operate a shelter for stray and owner-relinquished non-native animals
- Adopt unwanted animals to responsible homes
- Euthanize unwanted animals not suitable for adoption
- Promote responsible pet-ownership and animal welfare through counseling and law enforcement
- Rescue animals that are lost, diseased, injured, or in peril
- Provide public education programs for adults and children.
