18th Judicial Circuit Court Arts Commission
ATTENTION ALL HIGH SCHOOL ART STUDENTS!
In 2018, the 18th Judicial Circuit Court Arts Commission was formed to review the framed documents, plaques and artwork located throughout the public spaces in the courthouse. The Commission is chaired by retired Judge Ron Sutter and is comprised
of judges, attorneys. administrative staff members and a student representative. The goal of the Commission is to create a courthouse environment which conveys and reflects the principles and ideals of our justice system. The Commission has created
a Hall of Justice on the main floor of the courthouse which displays artwork reflecting justice-related themes, such as fairness, equality, impartiality, independence, due process and equal protection of the law.
DuPage County High School Art Competition
We will be conducting an art competition among the DuPage County high schools in the fall of 2019. We would like to encourage high school students to submit artwork for this project. The submitted artwork will be reviewed by the Arts Commission and
the winners' artwork will be unveiled at a courthouse ceremony. It will be framed and displayed in our Hall of Justice with a plaque stating the name of the artist and school for a one year period. Please see the links for the overview of
the competition from Chief Judge Daniel P. Guerin, the Department Chair Letter (PDF), the Guidelines for the Arts Competition (PDF) and Student Information and Release Forms (PDF).
