GRADE: 110

Under general supervision; performs work to support Foundation operational activities, donor stewardship and other revenues for DuPage County Animal Services by supporting the activities of DuPage County foundations/nonprofit endeavors; performs related work as required.

An employee in this class serves as a liaison between members of the Foundation Board of Directors, sponsors, donors, staff, the professional community and the public in supporting the operations of the foundations and nonprofit activities which benefit the County. General supervision is received from the Operations Manager of DuPage County Animal Services.

• Provides support, coordinates and acts as a liaison for Foundation Board activities, fundraising, events and capital fundraising initiatives
• Coordinates and monitors committee activities & special fundraising events including pre-event & on-site event management and sponsor stewardship
• Develops working relationships with community groups, professional associations and other like agencies and identifies potential networking and/or joint marketing opportunities
• Coordinates all donor stewardship and communications
• Solicits and acknowledges in kind and monetary donations
• Maintains donor database and donor records
• Assists in the process of identifying and preparing grant funding opportunities
• Maintains foundation annual commitments calendar
• Promotes awareness and understanding of the foundation’s existence and mission by performing various public relations activities through the media, public relations, marketing, press releases, direct mail etc.
• Updates/maintains foundation website and public announcement boards
• Provides information to support the annual foundation operations budget preparation
• Participates in volunteer and board member recruitment, onboarding and stewardship
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality

• Adjusts work assignments and schedules in the event of an emergency to participate in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery activities as assigned.
• Depending on assignment may maintain required emergency management training, licensure and/or certifications.
• Performs related duties as required or assigned within the job classification.

Knowledge of:
• Current office practices, procedures and equipment

• Using computer hardware and software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, etc
• Applying an acquired knowledge of procedures, rules, regulations and services applicable to the assigned office
• Enlisting support and cooperation of funding organizations

Ability to:
• Manage projects and multiple priorities simultaneously
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with department and division staff, other departments and others, such as vendors
• Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Completion of an Associates degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public or Business Administration, or Human Services, and one (1) years of professional experience in not-for-profit fundraising; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
