Special Projects

This page is dedicated to providing updates on key regional projects and programs that have unique or special funding. Project: Willowbrook Corners Infrastructure and Mobility Project

Description: DuPage County proposes to add a sidewalk or multi-use path along 91st Street (a Downers Grove Township highway) and pathway lighting from Clarendon Hills Road to IL Route 83 (Kingery Highway). The project is intended to improve the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists who use the roadway to access a school, religious institutions, retail and food opportunities.

Funding: The project as proposed is funded through DuPage County and DuPage County local gas tax.

Project Schedule: DuPage County DOT (DuDOT) is currently in the process of contracting engineering firms to perform environmental review and design services for the project. It is expected that the early phases will require 15-18 months to complete with construction beginning in 2026. The first phase of the project will include public outreach with the community and local property owners.
