  • Judge Orders Detention of Chicago Teen Accused of Stealing Car at Gunpoint

    DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert B. Berlin and Addison Director of Police Bill Hayden announced today that Judge Brian Jacobs ordered that a Chicago teen charged with hijacking a woman’s car at gunpoint from a Popeye’s restaurant parking lot will remain in custody until at least his next court appearance.

  • Bond Set at $300,000 for Carol Stream Man Accused of Armed Robbery

     DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Wheaton Chief of Police William Murphy announced today that a Carol Stream man has been arrested and charged with robbing a Walgreens drug store with a hatchet last weekend.

  • Former Teacher Sentenced to Four Years for Criminal Sexual Assault

     DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced today that on January 6, 2021, Judge Alex McGimpsey sentenced a former Joliet Central High School physics teacher to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for sexually assaulting a female student at the high school.

  • Appellate Court Affirms 90-Year Sentence in 1993 Double Homicide

    DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert B. Berlin announced today that the Second District Appellate Court of Illinois has affirmed the ninety-year sentence of Sean Helgesen for the 1993 murders of Peter and Diana Robles.
