The County of DuPage
Wheaton, Illinois

Environmental Division

Welcome to the Environmental Division section of the County's website where Waste, Recycling and Green Initiatives are found. Our aim is to inform the public about environmental issues impacting their health, well-being and safety and provide recycling opportunities to both residents and businesses.

The categories in this section are full of great resource for identifying recycling and disposal locations and learning about green buildings, water conservation and energy efficiency.

Additionally, the County is a recognized leader in addressing environmental concerns. The 2011 Environmental Progress Report lists many of our accomplishments and ongoing programs. The County is proud of its green achievements and we will continue to be on the forefront of environmental issues.

Do NOT place masks, gloves and other PPE in the recycling bin.  Those items belong in your bagged trash. This will protect you and essential workers that continue to handle your waste and recycling
